Watercress, melon and fish, oh my
I'd forgotten I put in some crocus in the front garden along the walkway but up they popped this week all bright and cheery. I really love these stripey ones may have to get some more of those. Daniel and I ventured out behind the fence to survey the aftermath of the fire. There's actually still a ton of leaf litter in most of the burned area but in a few spots above the rocks it was burned down to soil. I didn't have the right shoes on for clambering about in the rocks so he took some photos for me above the rocks. It looks like about 100' diameter area was burning.
I found some gorgeous red watercress at the market this week and it was amazingly fresh. It's so hard to find watercress without some icky slimy bits so I snatched it right up and planned to search out a recipe after I got home. Fine cooking came to the rescue with this lovely salad of watercress, mint, melon and a lemon juice basted fish. Delicious!

Yum! That sounds delicious!
